Drinking games for 2

Most "drinking games for two" lists are party games with everyone else deleted. These are the games that actually work with two: a guessing game that never runs out, a question game that needs nothing at all, and a Jenga tower with rules on the blocks. If you want a big-group classic, each page says whether a two-player version exists.

What makes a game work with two

Party games spread the drinking around ten people and hide the fact that nobody is really winning. With two, every rule lands on someone, so the game needs three things: turns that matter, a real way to win, and an end. Guessing games have all three. Building games (Jenga) have a built-in ending. Chess has a winner by definition.

This is the thinnest hub on the site and the one with the most searches, so it is where new games are being added first. Truth or Drink and the drinking games for couples list are up; Speed and Drunk Battleship are next.

What is a good drinking game for 2 people?

Higher or Lower is the one to start with. It needs a deck, takes ten seconds to explain, and it is a genuine two-player game rather than a party game shrunk down. Drunk Jenga is the best if you have a set; Beer Chess is the best if you both play chess.

Can you play Kings Cup with 2 people?

Sort of. Half the cards target "everyone" and do nothing with two. The Kings Cup page has a two-player variation that swaps those rules; it is fast and slightly vicious, and Higher or Lower is still the better pick.

What are drinking games for couples?

Any two-player game here works; the ones couples tend to keep are Most Likely To with a two-person twist, Truth or Drink question lists, and Drunk Jenga with custom blocks. The drinking games for couples page lists nine of them with rules, and Truth or Drink has its own page with 50 questions.

Which two-player games need no materials?

Yes No Maybe (answer questions without saying yes, no, or maybe) and Taboo with index cards. Both are on the no-cards page and both hold up with two.

Are two-player drinking games heavier?

Often, because every drink lands on one of two people instead of being spread around a table. Pick a lighter drink or play sips, and read the buzz rating on each page.

Please drink responsibly. Pace yourself, drink water between rounds, look after each other, and never drive after playing.
